Children love learning together. When children learn together, they develop enormous confidence from the momentum of an action-packed class. Together, students can experience the joy of interacting musically and playing with others. Music is a team activity, after-all.

Here are just some of the benefits your child will experience with our classes:
Starting Young
Neurological research has shown that the best cognitive brain development in music learning happens when children begin learning an instrument before the age of 7. Age 4 is ideal for piano lessons because the piano is a straightforward instrument. With the piano, children can see and hear what they are doing, which makes the learning process easier for them. Young children thrive in a group setting, where they can interact with, and learn from, their peers.
Whole-Body Learning
We use Whole-Body Learning in our classes. Whole-Body Learning is a fresh and engaging approach to teaching music that can be incorporated at any stage of learning an instrument. It is based on the ideas, concepts and approaches of Orff, Dalcroze & Kodaly, as well as neurological research into how the brain learns. Whole-Body Learning connects students through visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning (VAK). This means students are not just sitting at the piano reading and playing. They are engaging in multi-sensory and multi-modal activities which help to embody what they are learning.
Social Interaction
Our class format encourages teamwork, communication skills, creativity and collaboration. Children and parents learn together, promoting a sense of community which helps to sustain enthusiasm, momentum and interest over the longer term. Interactive learning is especially engaging for Generation Alpha (the current generation of beginners born since 2010). Research shows that students in interactive environments experience better academic and cognitive development.
Positive Peer Pressure
Healthy competition motivates students to practise and to do well. Regular in-class concerts encourage students to perform in a low-stress environment. This helps them significantly boost their confidence, which carries over into their performance at school, sports and other areas of life.
Aural Training
We incorpoate aural training from the first class. A good ear is essential for any musician, as music is an 'aural' art. In our classes, children develop listening skills, pitch awareness and singing skills. Aural training is so important because, if students are able to sing their pieces, they are able to play them more easily.
Student Engagement
Our class structure provides a platform for interactive activities like games, ensemble playing, singing, moving, listening, talking and laughing together, which promotes engagement and enhances musical understanding.
Fun!
Children love learning with their peers. The energy of the class is infectious and children are more engaged in an action-packed learning environment. This helps students to easily acquire key musical skills such as aural, rhythmic, performance, improvisation, harmony and reading skills.
